Fresh off establishing a dedicated business unit to handle electronic waste, Covanta Energy Corp. (Morristown, NJ) has consolidated its merchant services subsidiaries Covanta Secure Services and TransRiver Marketing Co. into a new unit, called Covanta 4Recovery, to address clients’ sustainability needs. Covanta said that the name “4Recovery” encompasses the central part of its business—recovery, or the fourth “R” after reduce, reuse, and recycle. Covanta 4Recovery will offer recycling, energy recovery, and secure destruction services to help clients achieve “zero landfill” status, the company said. “As a result of company growth in the last decade, we see an excellent opportunity to expand our merchant service offerings to take advantage of new business opportunities, including recovering more materials for recycling and providing our customers with even more sustainable solutions for waste disposal,” said Seth Myones, president of Covanta Americas.
