E-Waste Systems, Inc. (London, U.K.) has expanded its business in the United States through the acquisition of Tech Disposal, Inc. (Columbus, OH), a recycler of electronic waste, or “e-waste,” serving the Midwest market. E-Waste Systems said that the deal represents the first step in establishing a network of companies offering e-waste recycling and asset recovery services to electronic product makers that must comply with the European Union’s Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive or with electronics life-cycle management laws and systems in any other jurisdiction. The newly acquired company will operate as E-Waste Systems (Ohio), Inc.; Tech Disposal’s founder, George Pardos, will continue to serve the business as a consultant.
